Founded in 1983 as a marketing and design agency, Essemm has been contracted
by a number of prestigious Icelandic and Scandinavian businesses, to develop
communication strategies and deliver solutions.
In 1990 Essemm created a brand called Vistaskipti / VistaXChange
which specialized in cultural and educational exchange. This endeavor expanded
in 11 years from being a small Au Pair agency, to a one-stop-shop Youth
Travel Company, connected with over 100 organisations and private companies
in 20 countries. VistaXChange turned out to be a leading player on the Icelandic
youth travel market and cultural exchange, when the operation was sold to
an Icelandic travel agency in 2002.
Lingo-Malamidlun is yet another new brand, launched in 2004.
